Kiani Concept

Coronation Scarf
A design can mean something simple, something imagined on the spur of the moment. Or it can mean everything, born from a concept of tradition, of history and perfected over months, even years. At Kiani Concept our ideas are fuelled by tradition and history, and our designs always influenced by a love of our home, our nation and its ideals. Those designs share the same qualities and ethos as our homeland and its history. To us, they mean everything. The latest, and perhaps finest example of that took an entire year to produce, from conception to initial creation, every stage had to be perfect, every design impeccable and every colour precise. For this was to be no mere accessory, this was to be the silk scarf that would be released to coincide with the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the coronation of His Imperial Majesty Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and Her Imperial Majesty Empress Farah Pahlavi on October 26th 1967, the same day of His Imperial Majesty’s birthday.

When you cast your gaze upon the scarf, we hope it becomes clear exactly why it was a year in the making, in the striking turquoise of Neyshabur it is set upon an intricate geometric Iranian design. It is then bordered with images of the Imperial Guard who famously stand without weapons, to display the unconditional trust His Imperial Majesty had in his people, interspersed with images of the Imperial Carriage drawn by eight white horses. Standing proudly at each end of the scarf are the symbolic orders of the Pleiades and the order of the Pahlavi, with the centre, standing majestic against the turquoise field; the Pahlavi coat of arms inside the infinity form of the order chain to show the endless love, as well as undying trust between the sovereign and his people. The scarf measures 180 x 70cm and comes in the finest luxury packaging, to treasure today and for the future.

CORONATION SCARF

Coronation Scarf
Every product we create at Kiani Concept means something, to us they are more than just products, and the level of time, love and commitment we invest in each and every one is a part of who we are. Perhaps it is because our Royal family is celebrating such a special year, and perhaps it is because we feel we have created something so special, the sheer sense of pride and love we have for this scarf is something that has driven us to new heights.
Coronation Scarf
But would it pass the highest of tests? Would it gain the ultimate approval, from none other than the Queen herself;
Her Imperial Majesty Empress Farah Pahlavi?
In The summer of 2017 Kiani Concept travelled to Cairo, Egypt, for an audience with Her Imperial Majesty. After a memorial service for His Imperial Majesty Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi Shahanshah, we were honoured to meet and present Her Majesty with the scarf, and to discuss our design and our inspiration.
In a meeting that was emotional, inspirational and utterly uplifting, we were blessed to see the positive impact that it had, and inspired to learn that the long hours, days and weeks we had spent in its creation were worthwhile…We had the very highest approval, and the reaction we had dreamed about from the very beginning.
All our creations mean something, and all of them share the same values as our country; pride, history and a unique sense of belonging. We felt all that and much more in the presence of Her Imperial Majesty, and will continue to do so in each and every scarf we create…
